Florida State Guardianship
Association
The Florida State
Guardianship Association (FSGA) is a nonprofit
corporation founded in 1983
for the improvement of
guardianship services.
Governed by a Board of
Directors representing five
geographical areas of the
State, FSGA is dedicated to
promoting the protection,
dignity, and value of
incapacitated persons
through a code of ethics,
advocacy, and the
dissemination of
information. FSGA's mission
also includes a focus on
furthering the
professionalization of
guardians as accountable
court representatives
through education,
networking, and legislative
action.
Central Florida Chapter
The Central Florida Chapter
of the Florida State
Guardianship Association (CFSGA)
was founded in early 1990
with less than ten members.
CFSGA now has nearly 50
members including
professional guardians,
attorneys, bank officers,
financial planners, family
guardians, social workers
from various organizations,
and other individuals
interested in guardianship
issues.
Because this chapter covers
such a large geographic
area, with many different
judicial circuits, judges,
probate clerks, and
counties, its sharing and
noncompetitive atmosphere
are of great benefit to its
members.
